Intro to Compass and SASS

There are many open source frameworks that are released to make theming simpler. One of the problems that themers / front-end developers usually face is the amount of CSS3 features that many want to use, but not all of the different browsers has the capability of getting it working correctly. Therefore, CSS preprocessors like Compass and SASS makes this possible by having predefined mixins, variables, rules and inheritance that are similar to the concepts of Object Oriented Programming.

Women's Museum of California

To keep up with the latest web trends, Goldlilys Media updated the entire static HTML site to a fully functional website with a gorgeous design that matches the organization's theme and ideals. Goldlilys Media interviewed the staff of Women's Museum of California to gather enough information about their organization to translate to the website medium. Made it possible so that adding contents to the website won't need any programming knowledge, but with only a few selections from forms using Drupal CMS allows the display of sections in any way imaginable.

Success Against The Odds Planner

Build out the back-end with Drupal and creation of a custom module to make AJAX updates directly to forms instead of going to another page. The planner also contains the ability to send out reminders through email or SMS messages using Tropo. The reminder depends on certain conditions the user chooses on their profile. Besides coding the back-end, also themed the front-end user interface with jQuery library for interactivity and CSS.

UCSD Visual Arts Department Part I

Re-themed an existing Drupal 6 using a Fusion subtheme from Photoshop designs. Learned how to create multilayered submenus and different styling / coloring for each section using CSS. Configured the photo galleries, events and blogs as node references (relations) to particular users with different roles for the site. Added twitter feeds, views slideshows, news and events calendar on homepage. Fixed existing content types to include references and for the views to display the required fields.

Toys For Joy

Used Fusion subtheme for the visual with photoshop comps from Gijo Designs. Utilized CSS3 to create the rounded corners and shadow effects without the use of images.

Added the newsletter and helpful links on the sidebar, share widgets on header, laying out the main sponsors page in custom XHTML and CSS web standards. Configured the photo gallery and video capabilities so that the content managers can easily add photos and videos by either upload or from youtube / vimeo. Also set up the slideshow on the homepage.
